Taking a nap right after doing exercise and the effect
All of us know if doing exercise can drain the stamina, and as expected, you'll get tired even feel sleepy. So it may raise a question if it's fine to sleep afterward or not.
Resting the body after the exercise especially sleep can be done based on body condition, and also your training intensity.
Compared to average people for instance, marathon runners need more duration to sleep because of their body released Cytokine hormones for the process.
Cytokine sends kind of signal for you to rest after doing the intense activity.
Therefore, "listen" to the body either you must sleep or not, regardless the fact if rest after training is so crucial.
No scientific journey though about the correlation between sleep right after you do body training.
One thing for sure, you must restore the energy and thing to do is by getting the rest.
This will also make you realize to stop doing training when it's the wrong time to do it, or else it'd dangerous for the body.
No suggestion either for exercisers, as the duration will be depend on you since all of us don't have the same routine after all.
After exercise it's a common sense to rest, and drink water to get dehydrated.
And make sure body is clean from the sweat hence you can sleep better. On contrary, most of us may choose eating after exercise which is not really recommended either.
For this habit, don't sleep after you eat so give the body to process the foods inside.
As talked about, feeling sleepy is not a weird thing, unless you feel too tired which can be the clear sign of over-training.
This condition can also ruin focus for the following days.
Instead of better sleep, it will affect the quality of sleep and you won't feel refreshed.
Now watch the effect and reduce it by taking a break from doing your training. Before it's too late and it gives the damage even more.
So finally, in case you feel sleepy after having the exercise done, then get the benefits from sleep you do.
And be ready to do next training phase, certainly when you actually get enough rest and feel more refreshed.
Napping may also give effect, still, it's not something dangerous. You may feel disoriented when you wake up from napping.
Your sleep phase may get disrupted, and it feels annoying when you really don't get sleep enough.
Sleeping at afternoon will certainly give effect to your sleep quality at night. So it's wise to understand about it.
Moreover, you don't want to overdo the activity even when you are too tired.
After the exercise, Sleep Foundation suggests that you follow some tips if you want to take a nap.
First sleep with short duration, thus it won't cost your night sleep.
Moreover, no need to take a nap if it's already above 3 PM. Getting the body relaxed is more recommended.
And of course, the place to sleep that should be made to "facilitate" this activity.
